Note family
Amber notes
Amber is not one material but an accord: labdanum resin, vanilla, benzoin, warm spice, a little powder. It reads golden, warm, and slightly sweet, the smell of candlelight.
What they layer with
Amber is the best booster for giving a light stack staying power and glow. Over florals it turns petals warm; over woods it makes a smoky evening; under citrus it keeps the spark from fading in an hour.
What to be careful with
Amber on amber goes heavy and cloying fast. Fresh aquatic fragrances can clash with ambery warmth, reading like two perfumes that never met.
