The practice
Scent stacking, explained
Scent stacking is wearing two or more fragrances at once, on purpose, so they read as one blend: a core scent that carries the day, plus one or two boosters that bend it toward the occasion. It is not spraying randomly until the room smells like a department store. A stack has structure: an anchor, a direction, and a reason.
The short version
Most people who love fragrance own a shelf of bottles they wear one at a time. Stacking turns that shelf into combinations. Pick a core: the bottle whose character you want to keep, usually something with weight and staying power. Then pick a booster: something brighter, fresher, or sweeter that changes how the core reads. Spray the core first, the booster after, in different spots or layered low-to-high on skin. Two bottles, one idea.
How SprayStacker uses this
SprayStacker does the choosing for you. Your collection goes in, and the engine scores every possible pair and triple against what you actually own: it keeps the core intact, checks that the boosters cover the notes you asked for, and rejects combinations whose notes clash or cancel out. Every stack comes out with a ratio, the reason it works, and an occasion it fits. You keep the taste; the engine keeps the arithmetic.
The rules the engine uses are simple enough to use by hand. Keep one core per stack. Make boosters earn their place with a note the core is missing. Avoid stacking two loud bases on the same skin point. And when in doubt, spray lighter than feels right: layered scents amplify.

Common questions
What is scent stacking?
Scent stacking is deliberately wearing two or more fragrances together so they read as one blend: a core scent plus boosters that shift it toward the occasion, with a chosen order and ratio.
Is scent stacking the same as perfume layering?
Yes. Scent stacking is perfume layering with an emphasis on structure: one core scent per stack, boosters chosen for the notes it is missing, and a deliberate spray order instead of two random spritzes.
Do I need special layering fragrances to stack?
No. The whole point is using the bottles you already own. Most collections already contain a core and several boosters; you just have not scored the combinations yet.
How many fragrances should be in a stack?
Two or three. One core carries the stack; each booster should add a note the core is missing. Past three, the blend stops reading as one idea and starts reading as noise.
Can I stack two strong perfumes?
It usually backfires: two loud bases fight for the same skin and the result is muddy. Keep one dominant core per stack and choose quieter or fresher boosters.
SprayStacker scores every combination on your shelf and hands you the stack for tonight.
