Note family
Floral notes
Florals are the heart of perfumery: rose (jammy or fresh), jasmine (heady white petals), iris (cool, powdery, rooty). They carry the character of a fragrance for the hours when it matters.
What they layer with
Florals love warmth underneath: amber boosters make a white floral glow, woods give a rose structure, and musk turns any floral into a skin scent. A light floral core with an amber booster is a classic date stack.
What to be careful with
Two big white florals over the same point read thick and old-fashioned. Gourmand sweetness over very honeyed florals can go suffocating in warm rooms.
